The TOMO wave-color therapy device utilizes carefully selected waves and colors to create a customized sleep environment tailored to your individual needs. The app serves as the front end of a comprehensive three-part system, which also includes the TOMO device and a monitoring bracelet that tracks the user's physical statistics. With a streamlined onboarding process, the app calculates essential parameters, recommends optimal treatment settings, and provides valuable statistics to help refine and enhance the therapy experience.

Overview

In today's fast-paced digital world, many people are looking for ways to enhance their quality of life. Countless studies have shown that sleep quality is a key factor in overall wellness.

The main challenge of this project was merging the scientific, medical aspects of the product with the mindfulness and spiritual elements. By doing so, the goal was to offer users a modern, cutting-edge product rooted in scientific principles and data, while also promoting a sense of holistic well-being.

Start Now

1.

The vast majority of the apps use dark mode.

2.

Extensive use of relaxing and soothing imagery, primarily drawn from nature, aims to evoke a sense of calm and encourage a meditative state for the user.

3.

There is a noticeable difference in design language and overall look-and-feel between apps focused on scientific concepts and those centered on mindfulness. Very few references successfully merge these two approaches.

Main Conclusions

Pain Points

1.

Data Interpretation

Overwhelming  volume of information which the user find difficult to interpret. Similar platforms may feel too focused on scientific metrics without offering actionable insights or clear guidance for users to improve their health.

2.

Limited Customization

The options for customizing or adjusting the data display and notifications are somewhat limited in similar platforms / devices.

The design should focus on creating a calming, intuitive interface that blends scientific principles with mindfulness elements. The app should allow users to personalize their sleep therapy with easy-to-understand explanations. A soothing visual design, with muted colors and gentle animations, will enhance the calming effect of the therapy while guiding users through educational content on the science behind wave-color therapy. The app should also feature simple tracking and feedback systems to monitor sleep patterns and help users fine-tune their therapy settings for optimal results.

My game plan

Highlights

Customizable and adjustable treatment plan.

Create a simple, self-explanatory, and intuitive onboarding process that outlines a treatment strategy personalized to an individual’s unique needs, preferences, and circumstances, with the flexibility to adjust over time based on progress or changing conditions.

Data-driven process

The primary goal of the design process is to create an intuitive, natural experience that enables users to easily adjust their habits and plans. This is achieved through a visually appealing and functional interface, presenting clear and understandable data and insights for effortless decision-making.
